Söndag morgon

Lördagen ägnades till ett par saker; 1) sova, 2) promenera, 3) samordningsmöte med samtliga ungdomsrepresentanterna (på mitt hotellrum), och 4) dans. Igår dök också Per upp och flyttade in, trevligt. Det är just nu söndag morgon och vi har precis svurit lite övar att vi inte har något vatten hemma, men Per har listat ut kaffekokaren (som jag har funderat över ett par gången under veckan) och bjöd precis på en kopp.

Vet inte riktigt vad vi ska göra idag. Eller jo, först ska vi ut och käka frulle och sedan ska vi skriva om paragrafen nedan. Paragrafen är från ungdoms-resolutionen och vårt uppdrag är att försöka formulera om den, stärka den, på ett sätt så att USA blir nöjda. USA:s representant sa nämnligen följande i slutet av veckan:

"Each of us must work to ensure that today’s youth have the opportunity to become healthy, productive adults. In doing so, we recognize the important role that family plays. Every country needs to adopt policies and practices to promote healthy families and ensure that youth are able to obtain the education and training they need to be successful contributors to their communities. Actions we take now to help our youth will have a vital impact on the kinds of societies we become in the future. The United Nations can play an important role in facilitating action in all of these areas. It is important, however, that its activities and programs be clear, focused, and action-oriented. This is not always the case. In the report on the “Follow-Up to the World Program of Action for Youth,” for example, we note a lack of clarity as to what the proposed indicators related to youth would measure. We urge the UN and governments to think carefully about what appropriate programs and indicators would be, both in terms of social development and the technical issues involved in data collection, in this area and others, and take the steps necessary to ensure that we here, collectively, are helping put our countries on the right path to a future in which all of our citizens live free, productive and satisfying lives."

"§27. Requests the Secretary-General to provide the General Assembly at its sixty-fourth session, through the Commission for Social Development at its forty-seventh session, with a comprehensive report on the implementation of the World Programme of Action, including the definition of goals and targets, on the cluster named “Youth and their Well-being.” (NEW)"
