Påverkanspunkter, so far...

På resolutionen "Youth in the Global Economy" valde LSU att prioritera följande tre påverkanspunkter (A, B och C nedan). Prioriteringen gjordes utifrån kriterierna 1) faktiskt relevans för ungdomsorganisationer, 2) möjlighet att kunna antas, samt 3) fokus på specifikt språk (vem och när) och verksamhet (action).

A) Goals and targets
Belysa att uppdraget till SG, "requests the Secretary-General to provide the General Assembly at its sixty-second session, through the Commission for Social Development at its forty-fifth session, with a comprehensive report on the implementation of the World Programme of Action, including the definition of goals and targets, in one of the three clusters mentioned above, inte är uppyllt då rapporten inte innehåller några "goals and targets", att indikatorerna lämnade mycket att önska, samt att detta bör åtgärdas (snarast) utan att det försenar arbetet med de kommande två klustrena.

Para 8. Request the SG, in consultation with organisations, programmes and specialized agencies of the United Nations System to identify goals and targets regarding the cluster "Youth and the Global Economy", and to submit an interim report to the GA at its 62nd session;

Para 9. Takes note of the indicators proposed by the Secretary-General's report on the Follow up to the World Programme of
action for Youth (E/2007/7) to measure and track progress in the implementation of youth programmes at the national levels, and requests the Secreteriat tp further refine these indicators and to report thereon to the Commission for Social Development at its 46th session;

B) Erkännande av ungdomsorganisationer som aktörer för utveckling samt C) genomgående justera resolutionen så att den konsekvent pekar på att allt arbete ska göras "in consultation with youth-led organisations". LSU föreslog att lägga till följande paragraf: Recognizes that youth are an active part of society and an important actor for social development and encourages Member States to include young people and youth organizations in all aspects of youth development, including the decision making process on all levels in all aspects concerning youth.

Para 1. Recognizes that youth are an active part of society and an important actor for social development and therefore encourages Member States to involve young people and youth organizations in all aspects of youth development, including holding consultations with youth-led organizations as well as, where appropiate, inviting youth representatives to participate in national delegations to relevant UN fora;
Para 5. Urges the Secretary-General, in light of the growing interest across United Nations agencies and programmes in youth development, take a lead and more systematic role in interagency consultations on youth development in cooperation with Governments and youth-led non-governmental organisations, and move these discussions from ad hoc to a more regular basis;
